Gaston and Josse Bernheim-Jeune established a close relationship with Henri Matisse early in his career: from 1909 to 1926 he was under contract with them, after which they continued to regularly buy and promote his work. This book is a visual account of that relationship, including copies of contracts, letters, invitation cards, and catalogues from the 67 solo or group exhibitions at the Bernheim-Jeune Gallery where works by the artist were exhibited. Text in French.
