SNOW
, Bonnie E. and Hugo B. FROEHLICH. The Theory and Practice of Color. 59 pp. Illustrated with photolithographic frontispiece and 8 colour charts consisting of several hundred tipped-in hand-painted colour samples. 4to., 255 x 195 mm, bound in publisher's light brown cloth, stamped in gray on front cover and spine. New York: The Prang Co., 1920.

Third Edition of this treatise first published in 1918, and which is now rare. Published for the "average man," as opposed to the physicist, the chemist, or the artist, to whom many previous colour books appealed, this study is about colour appreciation, "the enjoyment of Color," in everyday life. Topics include colour values, psychology of colour, costume, interior decoration, and commercial design, illustrated with various colour charts. Samples in very good condition, with original tissue guards. Wear to the binding, but sound and the contents immaculate.

Yale Library Gazette, July 1974, p. 46. The Book of Colour Concepts 552 cites first edition.
