FARBEN, I.G. Immedialfarbstoffe auf Baumwollgarn. 47pp. with 408 mounted thread samples. 8vo, 242 x 169 mm, publisher's cloth. Frankfurt am Main: I.G. Farben, 1935.
A handsome catalogue from the legendary company I.G. Farben. As is pretty much always the case with these sample books, it is very rare, with OCLC listing only one copy worldwide, in the Rijksmuseum.
Formed in 1925, I.G. Farben is best known today for its collaboration with the Nazi regime during the second World War. It initially specializd in high quality specialty dyes before expanding into other chemical areas. The member companies that came together to form it in 1925 had an estimated global market share in the syntetic dye business of 90%, making this sample book an important artifact in the history of the cotton dying.
