Colour lithographed covers, the first, under a calligraphic title in capital letters, depicting gunners behind a cannon, flags on the second, guards illustrated with flags. A title page and illustrated table of contents precede twenty-six boards each comprising a letter, a title, a central illustration in a black frame and a text as close as possible to the war, adapted in a real way for children. From A for Alsace to Z for Zouave, including Drapeau, Highlander, Joffre, Russe and La Tranchée, this is a book for children.
