A beautifully made book on the art of kumadori makeup used by the actors of the kabuki theater. Kumadori makeup usually consists of stripes of bright colors or designs on a white background, the colors and patterns symbolizing aspects of the actor's personality. Bright red stripes indicate a role of powerful hero. Beautiful hand-made woodblocks of painted faces of different roles of the Japanese Kabuki Theatre, in very fresh colours under transparent protection sheets on which is description of role/person of that face painting.
