First Editions of these important accounts of the two voyages to Siam made by Guy Tachard, a French Jesuit missionary during the reign of Louis XIV. On the first Voyage Tachard visited The Cape of Good Hope and his book contains useful descriptions of the country, inhabitants and animals including illustrations of a zebra along with lizards and snakes. The two books contains detailed descriptions of the geography, flora and fauna, and the customs of both the indigenous population and of the Portuguese and Dutch colonists of Siam, and also of Java and Sumatra.
