A landmark publication in Klee scholarship, this catalogue raisonne in eight volumes documents the artist's 9,600 drawings, prints, watercolors, and oil paintings, presented in chronological order. The catalogue includes Klee's own record of his production, which he maintained meticulously from 1911 until his death in 1940. This first volume follows Klee from childhood through the years he studied painting in Munich until 1912 and his first contacts with the "Blau Reiter" group.
