Noted Miro scholar Pere Gimferrer conducted a series of interviews with the artist and spent several years researching the complete documentation in the archives of the Joan Miro Foundation in Barcelona. The book catalogues some 1200 works, ranging from sketches, drawings, and etchings to paintings, sculptures and ceramics, accompanied by the artist's notebook annotations.
