An exhibition catalogue published to accompany the Edward Hopper show to be held at the Whitney Museum (New York) in the Summer of 1995. Sixty-five of Hopper's most important works will be featured in the catalogue, along with texts by a variety of fiction writiers, poets, and playwrights which explore the ways Hopper created, and represented, a uniquely American sensibility. Contributors will include Ann Beattie, William Kennedy, Norman Mailer, Walter Mosley, and Grace Paley, along with an essay by art historian Gail Levin. Announced for June.
