Two versions of this rare and important twentieth century contribution to colour theory, the work of the artist and theorist Otto Prase. The first edition, which is in a completely different format from later versions, is rare, with OCLC listing only 2 copies in the US, at Yale and U. Wisconsin at Madison. There were several later editions, but in different formats, as here. Attempts were made to resissue the work after the war but abandoned the effort when they were unable to reproduce the colours in the same quality. The rarity of all the editions must be ascribed to their having been heavily used. In fine condition, with the original cardboard box.
