A typical example of one of the photobooks produced by Matsugi, who was a prominent photographer in prewar Japan. This book documents the training of Naval cadets during the early 40s and is one of the best examples of so-called 'news-photography' (hodo shashin) in the 'patriotic' vein. A superb copy in the dust wrapper and slipcase.
