First Edition of two scarce automotive colour sample books recording automobile colours in the years preceding and following World War II, with hundreds of paint samples arranged in sections separated by tabs for various cars: Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Lincoln, Oldsmobile, Packard, Plymouth, and more. The Acme White Lead & Color Works was a pioneering developer of the first automotive lacquers besides black, a repertoire of colour that made the company an auto industry leader. Sherwin-Williams acquired Acme in 1920.
