Thanks to a generous bequest in 1964 by Robert Delaunay's wife Sonia, the Pompidou's holdings of his work are exceptionally wide. This exhibition showcases works from the somewhat overlooked second part of his career, which began after World War I (a major exhibition on the years 1906-1914 took place at the Pompidou in 1999). Of particular interest here are his mosaics, paintings on cement, and plasters from the 1930s, and one of the final chapters offers archival records of his stunning hangar-sized installation at the Palais de l'Air, part of the International Exposition held in Paris in 1937.
