One of 250 copies. Montaigne's essay "Upon some Verses of Virgil" in a very readable translation by Constance Vera Norman. Of marriage, Montaigne writes: "So it happens as we see in cages, the birds outside want to get in and those who are inside are equally desirous to get out" (p. 22). The present edition is adorned with woodcuts by Bruno Bramanti. A pleasing volume, nicely printed on laid rag paper with deckle edges, newly bound in half morocco.
