John Retcliffe was a nineteenth-century German anti-semite whose real name was Hermann Ottomar Friedrich Goedsche. This little book reprints part of an earlier text from his 1868 novel Biarritz. It is here accompanied by a series of excellent photographs. Published in the middle of the war, few copies seem to have survived.
