One of the more elaborate artists' books of Ronald King's Circle Press. Anansi Company is based on an African/Caribbean folktale in which the protagonist is a spider named Anansi. The portfolio contains thirteen lively, screen-printed wire-and-card puppets, which are based on Malaysian/Indonesian rod puppets. The Images are a combination of photo-collage and screen-printing. The accompanying poetical adaptation of the Anansi stories by Roy Fisher, celebrate and honor the Caribbean community of Notting Hill, London, where the Circle Press makes its home. One of an edition of 130 copies.
