First Edition. Sugimoto's disturbing and beautiful volume of 95 photos of empty movie theaters with empty movie screens. This is the deluxe version accompanied by a photogravure of: "U. A. Walker, New York, 1978" a movie theater located in the Mapleton district of Brooklyn. The Walker Theater, designated as a cinema "treasure" opened on January 5, 1926 with Wallace Beery in "Fireman, Save My Child". The opulent interior decorations were carried out by Vincent Margliotti. It was equipped with a Wurltzer 2 manual 10 rank theatre organ. The original, signed Sugimoto photogravure is preserved in a much larger custom-made brushed aluminum case, as issued. Limited edition of 1000 copies.
