Stuart Davis' early work was heavily influenced by the realism of the Ashcan artists, while later he developed his own American Cubist style. His work was inspired by American culture, such as jazz, city streetscapes and New England towns. These new volumes make up the definitive reference to this important twentieth-century painter.
