First Edition, one of fifty copies. Fer was a respected painter whose fame is attested by facsimile notes from Guillaume Apollinaire and Paul Signac. The preface, by Le Grand, a professor at the National Museum of Natural History, suggests this book was Fer's contribution to a longstanding tradition of colour theory aimed at an audience of artists who may have never studied the topic formally.
