A rare monograph on Sapunov who studied at the MUZhVZ (Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture) under Levitan (1893-1901), and at the Academy of Arts (1898-1901) under Kiseliov. From 1918 he participated in exhibitions including Crimson Rose, World of Art, Blue Rose, Moscow Society of Artists. He painted sets for the Bolshoi Theatre, as well as for Moscow Art Theatre (from 1904), Meyerkhold studio and theatres of Vera Komissarzhevskaya and the experimental Theatre of Alexandr Tairov. Missing pieces from the head and tail of spine, still a very good sound copy.
