Early photographs of Malta and her people, with views of the Grand Harbor, the Opera House, St. John's church, the amazing Chapel of Bones, Strada Reale, the lace worker, the milk-man, and many others. These appear to be albumen prints of ca. 1870. Richard Ellis was Photographer by appointment to T.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh and the Grand Duke of Hesse. Extensive worm-holing, occasionally affecting photographs, upper hinge broken; nonetheless, a fascinating photographic album, possibly unique.
