Accompanying a major retrospective of this 20th century Mexican photographer's work, Manuel Alvarez Bravo (b.1902) is represented here with examples from every phase of his long career. The majority of the 170 tritone plates were made from vintage prints from private collections or belonging to the artist. Many are previously unpublished.

Never-before-seen images from the private archives of the Mexican photographer are to be found here, along with some of his overlooked masterpieces. This compilation was put together with help from the artist, a contemporary of Edward Weston and Dorothea Lange, and was completed after his death in 2002.
