A major retrospective on Georg Grosz (1893-1959), presenting works which originate in the artist's experience of Berlin and New York. Nearly 70 paintings and 200 works on paper by Grosz are reproduced, along with numerous works by other artists he associated with. The exhibition (which began in December 1994 and continues through April 1995) traces his entire development, with special attention to Grosz's reaction to the socio-political situation in pre-Nazi Germany and to his work in the years after his emigration to the United States in 1933.
